Dr Naser Fouad, Her Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire

Dr Naser Fouad, Chairman and CEO of St George Healthcare Group, and Chairman of St Mark Universal Copts Care, was recently appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire. Dr Fouad is the first British Egyptian in the history of the UK to hold this position.

The appointment came after a recommendation to the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, David Briggs, by Dave Thompson, OBE, DL, Chairman of Warrington Disability Partnership, in recognition of Dr Fouad’s extensive service to those with disabilities and mental health problems in the county of Cheshire over the last 15 years.

The Lieutenancy Office serves to represent Her Majesty the Queen in all official duties in its respective county.

A celebration was held on Saturday 20th January 2018 to celebrate his appointment. This was attended by David Briggs, the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Dave Thompson, MBE, Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire, Nabila Makram, the Egyptian Minister of State for Emigration and Expatriate Affairs, and His Eminence Archbishop Angaelos and His Grace Bishop Biemen, as well as the Egyptian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nasser Kamel.

The Bishops presented Dr Fouad with a model of a Pharaonic chariot.

Dr Fouad met with His Holiness Pope Tawadros II in Cairo shortly after, who congratulated him on his new position, and published the news in the Keraza Magazine.
